Editorially researched means no physical test is claimed. Hands-on tested requires the physical product, exact model, tester identity, acquisition method, test date, original photos, conditions, and recorded observations. Long-term tested adds a defined period and change log.
No launch product currently carries a hands-on or long-term label.
Environment and optical measurements
A test record documents room dimensions, surfaces, ambient-light condition, fixture position, measurement distances, lux-meter model, minimum and maximum setting, color-temperature method, glare, diffusion, uniformity, and visible flicker observations.
Measurements are tied to the setup. A lux value without distance, angle, setting, and environment is not used as a universal product claim.
Power, heat, sensors, and connectivity
Where relevant, tests record power draw, standby draw, adapter, connector, cable, heat at defined locations, sensor range, response angle, timeout, dusk behavior, false triggers, manual override, and recovery after power loss.
Connected-product testing records app version, account requirement, network, hub, ecosystem, setup time, local control, cloud dependency, connection drops, firmware, and feature limitations.
Installation, batteries, and long-term use
Installation testing records surface, preparation, adhesive or hardware, time, corner handling, cable management, removal, residue, and replacement options. Battery testing records brightness mode, activation pattern, charge method, time, runtime, and repeat cycles.
Long-term notes include degradation, adhesive movement, discoloration, app changes, connection reliability, battery decline, replacement parts, and warranty interactions.
Christmas lights and decoration testing
Christmas-light records add packaging and label photos, plug and fuse, wire condition, daytime and nighttime installation, actual lighted and total length, bulb spacing, color, flicker, heat, power, timer, weather notes, app reliability, connection-limit checks where authorized, replacement, tangle resistance, removal, storage, and post-season condition.
