Compatibility is an exact claim
A smart-compatibility record identifies the exact product generation, app, protocol, ecosystem, hub, account, cloud, local-control, firmware, and offline-behavior claim. Vague works-with language or another product in the same brand family is not evidence.
Official app documentation, manufacturer support, and official ecosystem directories are preferred. A verified claim records its source, date, app or firmware version where relevant, reviewer, and limitations.
Documentation and hands-on evidence stay separate
Officially documented compatibility is not labeled hands-on. Hands-on verification records setup conditions, account and hub requirements, local and cloud behavior, connection reliability, power-loss recovery, feature limitations, and the tested software versions.
Compatibility can change through firmware, app, platform, or service updates. Records receive review deadlines and can be downgraded when evidence becomes stale.
